A POWERFULL DUO WITH THE SAME PASSION: THE WELL-BEING AND GROWING UP OF OUR CHILDREN AT SCHOOL
The Parents’ Committee is made up of a voluntary group of parents giving their time and energy to help improve the function of the school and bettering the experience of the students.
The Parents’ Committee meets 2 to 3 times a year to discuss, work through and resolve issues. Also the Parent’s Committee has a representation on the different “Conseils” (education, security and disciplinary) of the school and at the National Parent’s Committee.
The Parents’ Committee :
Can advise/inform the school management of issues/incidents.
Can suggest and/or organize activities.
Is a support group for parents and students.
Can organize events, workshops.
Works on improved communication between parents & school and school & parents.
Parental participation is at the core of the school and is a key value of our mission statement.
Parents help to reinforce the values of our school and this benefits all the members of our community.
The members of the Parents’ Committee reflect all the educational languages of the school spread through different academic years.
Educational research on the involvement of parents in schools shows that children achieve higher levels when parents, teachers and school management work together.
The Parents’ Committee is not a forum to complain against either an individual teacher or parent. Issues/conflicts should be managed by the school following the policy/procedure. If, after this, the matter is still not resolved, then you can contact the Parents’ Committee.
THE PARENTS OF THE DRAGONS Asbl
Created in June 2024, the Parents’ Committee has create an ASBL named “Parents of the Dragons”.
This ASBL will help facilitate :
the organization and participation in school’s events.
to bring support to parents and students in need.
to help any other projects, events that the ASBL will support.
The funding of the ASBL will be through the sale of membership cards and any monies collected from events and sales.
There are two types of members :
“EFFECTIVE MEMBER” : to become an effective member, you will need to be elected to join. Effective members must:
* have a connection to EIMAB (parents or family members of a student, working at the school etc.).
* take out an ASBL membership.
* be part of a Working Group at the ASBL.
“OBSERVATORY MEMBER” : Those members will need to take out an ASBL membership, renewable each year.
We are looking forward to active and engaged members !
